Job Description Summary
General Responsibilities: The Student Guggenheim Gallery Assistant plays a key role in maintaining smooth daily operations of the gallery. Responsibilities include supervising exhibitions managing events and engaging with visitors. Assistants help keep gallery spaces clean and organized and support the Director and Coordinator with exhibition installations event preparation and public relations activities. Additional duties include assisting with the setup and breakdown of exhibitions conducting tours and coordinating scheduling for student faculty and guest visits. Assistants are also responsible for supervising exhibitions handling artwork logistics such as packing and storage maintaining records of gallery inventory and condition reports and ensuring storage and supply areas remain organized and functional.

Specific Duties Social Media Specialist In addition to general gallery responsibilities the Social Media Specialist manages the gallerys Instagram account and broader digital presence including account growth post preparation and long-term scheduling of programming. Duties include developing scheduling and posting content across social media platforms (Instagram Facebook etc.); creating engaging photography video clips graphics and captions that highlight exhibitions artists and public programs; updating and managing digital content on the gallerys website; documenting exhibitions installations and events for archival and promotional use; monitoring audience engagement and responding to comments or messages professionally; and researching and implementing strategies to expand the gallerys digital reach and strengthen public engagement.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate an independent yet collaborative work style and be able to follow detailed instructions with care. Strong organizational abilities clear communication and reliability are essential. Attention to detail is key as is basic familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram Facebook or TikTok.
