Title : Global Staff Commodity Manager
Location : Shanghai China
Itron is looking for aGlobal Commodity Managerto join its global procurement this role you will be responsible for:
Direct ownership ofthe supplierrelationship: business reviews negotiations cost breakdown implementation contract negotiation and application
Researching and sourcing suppliers for defined commodities
Establish & deploy procurement strategy(Strategy roadmapPreferred Supplier List)for defined commodities
Identify alternative sources that provide both strategic & opportunistic PPV benefits for Itron
Financial review of supplier metrics detailed cost analysis on suppliers RFQ responses and developing &communicating recommendations for management review and approval
Conduct supplier selection and negotiations to deliver contractual agreements with preferred suppliers in accordance with defined category strategy
Support supplier quality and manufacturing engineering teams with Supplier evaluation Process audit supplier risk assessment.
Provide external marketplace knowledge of the latest category dynamics trends benchmarks and best practices
Support Assurance of Supply (AoS) activities through definition and implementation of recovery plan with suppliers
Qualifications
10 years of experience required
Experienced managing mechanical commodity categories having managed a wide number of mechanical part numbers within portfolio in prior companies.
Must have relationships and connections with manufacturers in mechanical categories.
Tech and/or Industrial market understanding including current market intelligence
Track record of meeting price-down goals
Data-driven decision making and execution
Ability to manage workshop with internal stakeholders & suppliers.
Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and spoken)
Education
Bachelors degree in related field of Mechanical Engineering. Master degree highly preferred.
Solid understanding of the mechanical market and can leverage industry connections with manufacturers and distributors
Strong sense of team comfortable with debate and buying in to aligned strategies
Strong presentation skills influencing CPO / SVP decision makers
Strong analytical skills
