Job Description

Requisition Summary

The Division Safety Manager is responsible for developing implementing and managing safety programs at Dynacraft a PACCAR Company. The ideal candidate is proactive has experience in a manufacturing environment managing multiple site safety program and effectively collaborates with leadership to develop a culture of behavioral-based safety. TheDivision Safety Managerdirects develops and oversees the general health and safety policies and procedures of the Division. Develops a systemic process to collect data and analyze the causes of accidents and generate required reporting. AdditionallyDivision Safety Managerimplements initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents occupational illnesses and exposure to long-term health hazards. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the Safety Department and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional position is in McKinney Texas and reports to the Division HR Manager.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Manage a comprehensive multi-site safety program including prevention inspection investigation and recording of incidents and related costs.
  • Detect hazardous conditions track and measure results and recommend as well as implement appropriate actions.
  • Provide leadership training and analysis to leadership managers and employees in the identification of potential hazards and accident prevention.
  • Oversee the Divisions OSHA and workers compensation program including investigations reporting and collection of information for claims management.
  • Oversee the various safety committees ensuring effectiveness
  • Develop and implement site specific safety training.
  • Develop maintain and communicate the plants emergency programs ensuring proper training and certification.
  • Develop and implement preventive or corrective measures relating to processes machinery layout plant ergonomics and/or personal protective equipment.
  • Proactively streamline safety processes and automate as appropriate.
  • Ensures the workplace is in compliance with OSHA and other state local or industry specific regulations and that periodic safety audits are conducted.
  • Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with applicable federal state and local laws. Coordinate with OSHA inspectors fire department inspections and PACCAR insurance carriers.
  • Benchmark safety programs with other PACCAR locations as well as suppliers and PACCAR peer companies.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Assist in basic first aid treatment and other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of industrial safety and health experience.
  • Professional certification in safety industrial hygiene or hazardous materials preferred.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Safety Management Occupational Health or related field required.
  • Masters Degree in applicable field preferred.
