Job Description

Overview

Join our team in Rochester MN as an Assistant Project Manager and become a vital part of our project this role youll work directly with our experienced project management team to support all phases of our construction projects. Youll gain hands-on experience with everything from day-to-day project-related tasks to planning scheduling and financial management. This is the ideal role for a motivated problem-solver who wants to learn and grow within a safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project team to plan setup and manage construction projects.

  • Navigate and use Egans project management systems and processes including Milestone Based Delivery (MBD).

  • Promotes a positive safety culture by ensuring Egans safety policies and goals are communicated and followed on assigned projects.

  • Participate in construction document analysis to develop clear and consistent interpretations.

  • Become familiar with the materials equipment and components of the technical systems installed by Egans trades.

  • Advise project management of potential problems work interferences schedule difficulties and the like as it relates to assigned duties. Learn how Egan can circumvent and/or resolve such problems.

  • Compose and edit letters memos reports and procedures; assist with change orders project billings and change request pricing.

  • Process day-to-day administrative items (i.e. supply requisitions RFIs submittals shop drawings procurement take-offs etc.) as directed.

  • Prepare special reports studies and statistical analysis per supervisors request. May require research development and/or interpretation of data with little supervision or instruction.

  • Learn how to interpret project schedules anticipate manpower requirements and measure subcontractor performance.

  • Assist with the research and preparation of field change requests to resolve design issues.

  • Participate in the continuous updating and accurate generation of as-built documents.

  • Attend project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as directed.

  • Assume a proactive approach to career development. Utilize available resources within Egan as well as request alternative instruction to learn how to become a successful project manager.

  • Solicit and review project submittals; coordinate with project manager and purchasing.

  • Build strong internal partnerships; work collaboratively with other Egan groups to support Egans Mission Vision and Values.

  • Use basic understanding of financials and reporting to support a PM in related responsibilities.

  • Perform additional duties and assignments as requested/needed.

Requirements

  • 2-year associates degree or Bachelors degree (or equivalent level of technical training and related construction experience).

  • 0-2 years of construction and/or general business experience.

  • Travel to jobsites and client sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Passion for the industry.

  • Outstanding organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities.

  • Courteous professional diplomatic and highly motivated.

  • Anticipates and adjusts to changing priorities and methods; willingly takes on new tasks and challenges.

  • Demonstrates a willingness to take on new tasks and learn new things.

  • Excellent MS Office and Google Suite skills and ability/desire to learn new software systems.

  • Must obtain OSHA-30 certification within six (6) months from date of hire (if not already certified).

Working Conditions

  • Performance of duties will mostly be in an office environment with visits to job sites as needed.

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.

  • Exposure to loud noise dirt and exposure to the elements.

  • Climbing ladders/stairs uneven ground bending kneeling and twisting are frequent needs.

Salary Range: $49392-$61740 (subject to such factors as experience education and/or skill set) plus potential annual discretionary bonus.
