Skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner and/or Physicians Assistant to provide care as Foot Care clinician. Responsible for providing high-quality patient care specialized foot care services to patients.
Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job
Patient Assessment and Diagnosis
o Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients feet and lower limbs to identify abnormalities infections or chronic conditions.
o Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to evaluate conditions such as diabetic foot ulcers peripheral vascular disease and musculoskeletal disorders.
o Develop individualized care plans based on patient assessments and diagnoses.
Treatment and Management
o Provide advanced foot care treatments including nail trimming callus removal skincare debridement and wound care while adhering to infection control protocols.
o Prescribe and administer medication as needed to manage infections pain and other conditions.
o Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for patients with complex needs
o Educate patients on proper foot care techniques preventative measures and lifestyle modifications to promote foot health.
Patient Education and Advocacy
o Offer patient-centered education to enhance understanding of foot health and disease prevention.
o Advocate for patient needs and preferences in the development and implementation of care plans.
o Support patients in managing chronic conditions through ongoing education and follow-up care.
o Stay informed about current trends and developments in foot care nursing through continuous education and training.
Documentations and Reporting
o Maintain accurate and detailed patient records including assessments treatments and outcomes.
o Prepare reports and documentation to support clinical decision-making and ensure continuity of care.
Other Functions
Promote the mission vision and values of SEARHC.
Maintain patient confidence and protect SEARHC operations by keeping information confidential.
Communicate appropriately to physicians staff and administrative team.
Manage and maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations.
Maintain records pertinent to personnel and operation of the department.
Demonstrate the ability to be flexible organized and function in stressful situations.
Maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
Pursue excellence and professional growth through means such as continuing education literature review and peer review of charts.

Education Certifications and Licenses Required
Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant license.
Foot Care Certification (FCC) required within 6 months of hire.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Experience Required
Minimum of 3 years in direct patient care including physical assessments.
1 year of foot care experience preferred.
Knowledge of
Conditions of the feet and foot care best practices
Billing practices compliance issues budgeting and resource management.
Cultural and population-based considerations that impact patient care.
Standards of care HIPAA health care risk management principles medical ethics and medical malpractice principles
Skills in
Effective communication skills and ability to interact with staff and patients.
Oral written and interpersonal communication.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Use of electronic medical record system(s).
Ability to
Promote teamwork and collaborate with other health professionals.
Efficiently utilize electronic medical records and other clinically required technology.
Adjust patient management practices to maximize productivity and quality of care.

Other Qualifications
Experience in documenting in electronic health records
Travel Required
Must be able to travel 2% of the time.
Travel is by jet small aircraft or ferry.
