Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for the following: The Logistics Assistant is responsible for several key tasks and duties related to the logistics and supply chain operations . These responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating Shipments: Managing and coordinating the movement of goods including arranging transportation and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Processing Shipping Documents: Preparing and processing necessary shipping documents such as bills of lading invoices packing lists and customs documentation.
  • Tracking Shipments: Monitoring the status of shipments tracking their progress and ensuring that they arrive at their destination on time.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with suppliers carriers warehouse staff and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and cost-effective logistics operations.
  • Problem-Solving: Addressing and resolving any issues that arise during the transportation and delivery of goods such as delays damages or discrepancies.
  • Administrative Support: Providing administrative assistance to the logistics department including data entry record-keeping filing and preparing reports.
  • Compliance: Ensuring that all logistics operations comply with relevant regulations company policies and safety standards.
  • Process Improvement: Supporting the logistics team in identifying and implementing improvements to streamline operations and reduce costs.
  • Customer Service: Communicating with customers and internal teams to provide updates on shipments and address any concerns or inquiries.

Education & Experience

  • A graduate of bachelors degree in business & or IT-related course or its equivalents with at least 3 years of relevant work experience in Logistics (functional skills).
  • Experience in SAP & or Oracle Systems is an advantage.

  1. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks prioritize duties and maintain organized records and documentation.
  2. Attention to Detail: Meticulous in reviewing and processing shipping documents and tracking shipments.
  3. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with suppliers carriers internal teams customers and government personnel.
  4. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to logistics such as shipment delays and or transportation problems.
  5. Time Management: Efficient in managing time to handle various logistics tasks and meet deadlines ensuring that shipments and processes stay on schedule.
  6. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with SAP and or Oracle Systems and tools such as Microsoft Office (especially Excel) for data entry reporting and analysis.
  7. Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work well with others in a team environment collaborating with different departments and external partners to achieve common goals.
  8. Customer Service Orientation: Focused on meeting customer needs and providing excellent service whether dealing with internal teams or external customers.
  9. Adaptability and Flexibility: Capable of adjusting to changes in schedules priorities or logistics processes and staying effective in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Knowledge of Logistics and Supply Chain Principles: Understanding the fundamentals of logistics supply chain management shipping regulations and transportation methods.
  11. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data related to logistics operations such as delivery times and other related factors to identify trends and make informed decisions.
