Job Description:
- Understanding of data modeling concepts and database design (e.g. dimensional modeling normalization/denormalization)
- Implementing Change Data Capture (CDC) pipelines particularly using tools such as Debezium Kafka Connect Flink or equivalent
- Programming with Python and writing optimized SQL for large-scale data processing
- Writing clean and maintainable code
- Version control with Git
- Performing code reviews
- Implementing unit and integration tests
- Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform CloudFormation)
- CI/CD pipelines for deployment and automation
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science Software Engineering Information Systems Mathematics or a related technical field
- 2 years experience with proven industry experience in data engineering or software engineering roles
- Hands-on experience with data engineering tools such as Apache Spark Apache Kafka and Apache Airflow (or similar orchestration tools)
- Familiar with containerized and container orchestration such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices
- Familiar with cloud-based big data ecosystems particularly:
- AWS (e.g. EMR Glue Athena Redshift)
- Google Cloud Platform (e.g. BigQuery Dataflow Dataproc)
