Kivas Impact Investments team works with investees from all over the world including lending partners that fundraise on as well as investees accepting debt financing from funds managed by Kivas institutional impact investing arm Kiva Capital Management. The team is responsible for sourcing monitoring and managing relationships with investees onboarding and training new partners and ensuring that all funding relationships are compliant with relevant policies and aligned with Kivas social mission and strategic focus. The Impact Investments team includes staff based in the US Colombia Kenya and Thailand who manage Kivas investment relationships in every region of the world. We are looking for a collaborative and purpose-driven professional who is excited to help us achieve Kivas mission.
This Investment Manager will be responsible for sourcing developing and supporting the existing portfolio of Kivas partnership-based impact investments with a focus on countries in South and Southeast Asia. They will also onboard train and support new investees to ensure compliance with Kivas policies and the effective and efficient use of Kivas systems. The ideal candidate is a flexible and positive team player who is passionate about Kivas mission and is able to design creative solutions to challenging problems. This role will be based in Bangkok Thailand and will report to the Investment Director for Europe & Asia.

Key responsibilities include:
- Relationship Management Build collaborative relationships with existing and potential investees which are primarily financial service providers.
- Investment Monitoring In collaboration with team members monitor assigned investment portfolio (both remotely and in person) including risk financial performance social performance and compliance with Kiva policies and covenants.
- Business Development Develop a strong network primarily to source and recruit new investees with an emphasis on achieving impact at scale.
- Due Diligence Conduct desk and on-site due diligence to assess prospects financial and social performance. Present potential investments for approval by the Investment Committee.
- Investment Design and Structuring Negotiate mutually beneficial investment terms and conditions with the goal of maximizing impact at scale while ensuring Kiva remains efficient and sustainable. Support drafting and review of transaction documentation with the legal department.
- Technical and Operational Support Assist in onboarding new investees supporting Kiva operations enforcing Kivas policies and updating investees on new developments and/or issues.
- Country/Region Expertise Provide expert guidance on local market conditions in key markets where Kiva manages investments.
- Strategic Partnerships Develop and manage active relationships with other stakeholders in the impact investing industry such as other funders of assigned portfolio investees.
Preferred qualifications:

- Bachelors degree and 5 years of work experience in Investment Management Finance International Business Economic Development or related role.
- Experience investing or working professionally in countries in South or Southeast Asia.
- Technical experience with lending/debt investments in private companies including financial statement analysis. Familiarity with investing in financial service providers is a big plus.
- Comfortable with technology and willing to learn new tools. Proficient in office software and adept at using new types of platforms.
- Strong communication skills including the ability to tailor communications to a wide variety of audiences and stakeholders across multiple cultures.
- Ability to build and maintain meaningful professional relationships including with external stakeholders and peers.
- Effective while working remotely including flexibility and willingness to adjust schedules in order to work across varying time zones.
- Ability to travel 20% of the time and to adapt to the various work environments travel presents.
- Ability to manage time well and prioritize across competing tasks.
- Full professional fluency in English is required. Professional fluency in regional languages is a plus.

- Salary range: $55K - $60K; a final offer will be dependent upon a candidates location skills and experience.
