The CPIC Unit at the Edmonton Police Service is integral in preserving the quality of life in our communities by increasing public safety and security in cooperation with other agencies and the citizens of Edmonton. This role requires exceptional supervision and teamwork skills to ensure public safety community support and police collaboration while thriving under high-pressure conditions. This role provides opportunities to manage diverse tasks and responsibilities demonstrating versatility and adaptability to meet ever-changing priorities and demands.

Reporting to the CPIC Unit Supervisor the CPIC Operator II Team Lead must be able to work within a high-pressured environment to ensure the delivery of operational information and support to police personnel and authorized outside agencies. The CPIC Unit requires one (1) permanent and one (1) temporary individual with excellent leadership customer service and communication skills to assume the following responsibilities:

  • Supervise and oversee daily operations providing leadership and guidance to CPIC Operator I in various roles.
  • Monitor workload equipment and systems for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Prepare employee performance and development plans.
  • Development implementation and evaluation of training procedures programs and orientation processes
  • Provide ongoing support training coaching and mentoring to employees.
  • Ensure employee compliance with EPS and CPIC policies.
  • Enter audit and review and conduct maintenance of agency CPIC records and CPIC Purge reports to ensure accuracy and quality assurance standards are maintained.
  • Manage warrant files for and coordinate the return of arrested individuals from out of the province as required.
  • Participate in the hiring of and oversee training and development of new CPIC Operators.
  • Assist police personnel and related agencies with CPIC information.
  • Provide relief supervision acting as Unit Supervisor and other related duties as required.

Hours of Work: Rotating 12-hour shifts to provide 24-hour coverage - 4 days on and 4 days off 2 days followed by 2 nights.

Salary Range: 21B Salary Grade: 013 $27.813- $34.876 (Hourly) $2225.00 - $2790.10 (Bi-Weekly) $58073.54 - $72821.09 (Annually).
The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
