Job Description Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic highly motivated results-oriented Senior Scientist I to join our Genetics Medicine Unit. The ideal candidate will be innovative organized and adaptable to a fast-paced environment. This individual will execute and support in vivo and ex vivo studies to support oligonucleotide delivery programs. Dont miss this fantastic opportunity!


Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan execute and troubleshoot in vivo studies for a variety of Neuroscience programs
  • Plan and execute complex tissue extraction protocols and analyses including RNA and protein assays (Western blots qPCR)
  • Intracerebroventricular (ICV) and intrathecal (IT) dosing bleeding and CNS tissue dissection and collection
  • Handle many projects simultaneously and prioritize experiments while producing high quality reliable and reproducible results
  • Data analysis organization and presentation
  • Maintain up to date organized and accurate study records including the use of an electronic lab notebook

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in science-related field
  • 4 research experience preferably in the field of neuroscience
  • Experience developing and executing experimental assays such as qPCR western blotting or nuclear fractionation.
  • Experience developing and executing in vivo experiments in rodent models
  • Expertise in small animal surgical techniques such as stereotaxic surgeries or catheterization
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of computer software and Microsoft applications (Word Excel PowerPoint GraphPad Prism)

The salary for this position is expected to range between $85000 and $158000 per year.

The final salary offered is determined based on factors like but not limited to relevant skills and experience and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and depending on the level of the role eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
