Want to drive sustainable change as a Sustainability Advisor
As our primary subject matter expert you will be responsible for providing sustainability guidance to Generate Zero clients as well as ensuring Generate Zeros compliance with international and local regulations. You will also be the internal expert upskilling the Generate Zero team managing the companys own carbon inventory and supporting product development by providing key technical insights and customer feedback.

You will be responsible for:
Youll be a central figure in helping clients measure manage and reduce their carbon emissions.
A core part of your role is providing expert advice on a range of sustainability issues including:
- Advisory and Client Support:
- Building and managing an advisory practice providing guidance to clients on things like methodology materiality assessments emissions factors data support reduction planning and audit support
- Leading the planning and scoping process for customer implementations and build strong client relationships
- Research and Development:
- Conducting research on carbon emission factors staying up-to-date with compliance and regulatory requirements and gathering ESG reporting requirements for new markets
- Supporting the development of data models for financed emissions and contribute to the product roadmap
- Internal Expertise:
- Educating and upskilling the internal Generate Zero team on sustainability and carbon topics
- Managing the companys own carbon inventory and support its certification and assurance processes
- Community and Product Support:
- Representing the company at sustainability events providing technical insights and customer feedback to the product development team and helping to shape the product roadmap
- Help to identify client prospects build a sales pipeline and help with sales meetings
What you will bring:
The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in environmental social and governance (ESG) practices particularly in carbon measurement.
- Experience:
- At least 3 years of ESG experience with a focus on measuring carbon inventories compliance and methodology documentation
- Experience with frameworks like TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) and PCAF (Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials) is highly valued
- Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of international GHG (Greenhouse Gas) frameworks and standards as well as New Zealands specific ESG regulations
- Soft Skills:
- A passion for problem-solving strong communication skills and the ability to confidently present and lead discussions with clients and stakeholders
- Be a self-starter who can manage your own workload in a fast-paced environment
