Tax Manager Aircraft Leasing

We are partnering with one of the top 15 global aircraft lessors to support their search for a Tax Manager to join their Dublin-based team. This is a unique opportunity for a tax professional to step into a high-impact role within a well-established and growing platform in the aircraft leasing sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all Irish and selected international tax compliance and reporting activities supporting statutory audits and collaborating closely with external advisors and the finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance: Oversee Irish corporation tax VAT payroll tax and other statutory filings ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and deadlines.
- SPV Oversight: Manage tax matters for a limited number of SPVs across jurisdictions including Sweden France the UK Cyprus Malta Germany the UAE and liaise on tax issues in India and Kuwait.
- External Advisor Management: Coordinate the work of Big 4 tax advisors and local agents to ensure accurate filings and effective risk management.
- Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of tax disclosures and notes in annual financial statements; manage Irish tax compliance providers on detailed account reconciliation and reporting.
- Audit Support: Work closely with internal and external audit teams on tax provisioning and compliance during annual audits.
- HQ Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular tax summaries and reports to the China-based finance team.
- Tax Research: Stay up to date with tax legislation in relevant jurisdictions and assess implications for the business.
Qualification:
- AITI-qualified (Irish Tax Institute) essential
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field; Masters or advanced tax qualification preferred.
Experience:
- 23 years of post-AITI experience in tax compliance and reporting ideally with exposure to SPVs or leasing structures
- Experience from a Big 4 environment or in-house within financial services is highly desirable
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Irish corporate tax VAT and international tax frameworks
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with cross-border teams.
