Job Description
PURPOSE & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The main role of this position is responsible for lab synthesis experiments to support regional projects. It supports performance coatings team through execution of new products development technology transfer products quality improvement and new source qualification.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively participate in R&D projects to develop new products with proper properties for targeted markets.
- Carry out hands on lab experiments according to projects priorities with detailed record the experiments process and samples testing results.
- Advise on and drive scale-up of development products at the pilot or production scale.
- Provide technical support to formulation technical service and regulatory as required.
- Adopt new technologies in product development to increase the value to customers.
- Maintain lab equipment and EHS&5S responsibilities. Keep the lab in safe mode to meet the EHS target.
REQUIRMENTS EDUCATION EXPERIENCE SKILLS:
- Degree in Chemistry Polymer Science Materials Science Chemical Engineering or similar.
- Solid knowledge in polymerization chemistry characterization of polymer resin.
- Minimum masters/PhD or at least 5 years of experience in polymer synthesis.
- Preferably with experience of acrylic emulsion polymerization polyurethane synthesis organic synthesis and coatings formulation.
- Good analytical problem solving and communication skills.
- Results driven and open minded.
- Ability to read write English. Fluent English speaking is a plus.
