Located within the IT & Digital Department we are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic IT Support Officer to join our team and contribute to the strategy and support of the forces mobility function delivering unparalleled User Experiences to our colleagues to support them in providing exceptional service to the public of the West Midlands.

As an IT Support Officer you will join our Mobility Competency Centre alongside a committed and enthusiastic team of mobility specialists within our Delivery Management function. You will be responsible for working with stakeholders across the Force to help deliver the next generation of our mobile technologies.
The scope of this role includes:
- Dealing 1-on-1 and 1-on-many with our user base to ensure best practices and high adoption.
- Providing first and second-line IT support & documentation for both hardware and software solutions.
- Testing new technologies and assisting with the creation of bespoke solutions for specialist business areas.
- Working with IT & Digital and other policing colleagues to ensure the service continues to meet West Midlands Polices needs.
- Liaising with external service providers both in the public and private sector to help future proof the solution.
Assisting in any other areas of the IT & Digital department as required.
Skills Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
- You have knowledge of smartphone technology and functionality especially within an enterprise environment.
- You have experience working with stakeholders (internally and externally) at all levels of seniority to diagnose and resolve faults.
- You can accurately capture and document technical problems and resolutions.
- You can work without direct supervision and use initiative to provide an excellent customer experience.
You can work across all levels of the IT & Digital Technical Delivery Lifecycle.
Desirable:
Knowledge of the following:
- Workspace One Airwatch Intune or other UEM
- Android OS and Android Enterprise
- Samsung devices Samsung Knox and Samsung DeX
- Applicants who hold a current Android Enterprise Associate qualification will be preferentially considered.

Vetting:
Successful applicants will be required to pass Management Vetting and Counter Terrorism Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.
Medical:
Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks which may include a drugs test.
Application Process:
The application process will consist of a technical test on Android Enterprise and a competency based interview questions.
