As a key member of our APAC Business Development team the successful candidate will support the APAC Litigation Arbitration and Employment practice (LAE) mostly based in Greater China across the full range of marketing and business development activities. This is a hands on role working closely with the APAC LAE partners and lawyers in order to drive revenue is an international role. The successful candidate will work closely with the M&BD team across APAC the global LAE practice the client development and ISG teams globally and other Hogan Lovells management staff and international offices as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

Business Development Manage all aspects of the proposal process including: opportunity identification and assessment; formulation of proposal strategies; client and competitor research; developing key messages and compelling value propositions; pricing analysis and modelling; and where appropriate undertaking proposal debriefs with clients and coaching partners and lawyers on beauty parade preparation. Ensure we have an up to date suite of sales and marketing collateral to meet a range of business development opportunities and that key information systems such as the credentials database experience database CV database photo library website and InterAction are kept up-to-date.

Marketing and Communications Explore possible marketing initiatives/events (in particular harnessing content campaigns and resources of the wider firm) and present proposals for marketing activities in support of agreed business plans and once approved assist in the execution of those plans.

Client Development and Industry Sectors Support the firms Industry Sector initiative and client relationship management programme in the region by i) taking a lead role in managing one or two key client accounts; ii) conduct client listening; and iii) support client secondments process.

Profile raising Working with relevant teams to promote Hogan Lovells and the work of the practice via directory and award submissions traditional press/media channels and digital/social media channels that collectively support the development of brand awareness in local and regional markets.

Collateral Management - Assisting in updating and maintaining a full suite of marketing collateral including office and practice profiles lawyers profiles and PowerPoint presentations.

Event/Webinar Management Successfully execute a broad range of events/webinars including panel and speaking engagements seminars and conferences social events and receptions.

Ad-hoc projects Lead or assist with special projects as required including client industry and market research.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have:

  • Extensive relevant experience working within a professional services organisation ideally with in-depth knowledge of the legal services sector and insight of the challenges and opportunities facing the sector in APAC.
  • Strong leadership skills with a genuinely collaborative approach and global outlook experienced at working in a matrix environment.
  • Exceptional personal communication skills good at building effective relationships with senior stakeholders and a demonstrated track-record of working as part of a global team.
  • Fluent in English with exceptional writing ability strong commercial numeracy and a deep understanding of macro-economic and political issues in APAC. Fluency in Chinese highly desirable.
  • The ability to work flexibly and in an inclusive cross-border cross-cultural team.
  • Proven discretion and trust in dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
