Job Summary

If you have a caring heart and a dedication to helping others PathPoint may be the place for you! We are currently accepting applications for part-time Direct Support Professionals to join our Independent Living Services team in Thousand Oaks CA.

In this role youll teach independent living skills to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes. This could include cooking and grocery shopping healthy living and exercise budgeting and money management scheduling medical appointments or other skills depending on the individuals personal goals.

About PathPoint: PathPoint is a nonprofit dedicated to helping people flourish. We partner with children adults and families to foster hope build life skills access support systems and form meaningful relationships. We serve communities across Kern Los Angeles San Luis Obispo Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.

Schedule: Part-time 20-25 hours per week flexible schedule that may include weekends.

Compensation: This is an hourly non-exempt position starting at $22.25 per hour. The pay range is $21.14-$23.36 the pay range is subject to change based on a variety of factors.

What Youll Do:

  • Work independently with individuals one-on-one in their homes.
  • Opportunity to share your personal hobbies with the individuals you are supporting if they are aligned with that persons goals and interests.
  • Document hours of service provided and progress toward established goals.
  • Flexible scheduling options including day evening and weekend shifts.

What Were Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Prior experience supporting or instructing individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required; if you are interested in this job but do not have directly relevant experience wed still love to hear from you!
  • Patience compassion and the ability to interact with individuals with disabilities their family members social workers employers and others in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Must have a valid California drivers license with a satisfactory driving record 5 years of driving experience and be eligible for coverage on PathPoints auto insurance policy.
  • Culturally aware acknowledges diverse employee backgrounds possesses skills to collaborate across cultures and avoids biased assumptions based on cultural differences.
