Job Description

As a Family Support Advocate (FSA) at Acelero Learning you will play a critical role in supporting families facing significant challenges while fostering childrens healthy development and school readiness. This position is designed to provide individualized intensive support to our most vulnerable families including those experiencing homelessness foster care family violence substance abuse or mental health concerns.

Your Role

As a Family Support Advocate you will provide targeted case management and intensive family engagement services that ensure every child has the foundation to thrive. You will work closely with Center Directors teachers and interdisciplinary team members to promote holistic support for children and some cases caseloads may extend across multiple center locations depending on family distribution and program needs.

What Youll Do

  • Support Vulnerable Families: Provide intensive individualized case management for families experiencing crisis homelessness foster care or challenges related to mental health violence or substance abuse.

  • Coordinate Services: Build and maintain partnerships with community providers to connect families with resources such as counseling treatment housing support and other interventions.

  • Promote Family Engagement: Empower families to actively contribute to their childs development and school readiness by setting meaningful goals and celebrating progress.

  • Maintain Records & Compliance: Accurately document family interactions services provided and outcomes in a timely manner to ensure program compliance and continuous improvement.

  • Foster Collaboration: Partner with internal staff to align family support services with classroom strategies ensuring childrens developmental and academic needs are met.

What You Bring

  • Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Social Work Human Services Family Services Counseling Family and Child Development or related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years working with vulnerable families and communities (experience with families of children ages 05 strongly preferred).

  • Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with assessment strategies for high-risk behaviors such as depression domestic violence and substance abuse.

  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.

    • Ability to coordinate with multiple agencies and advocate effectively for families.

    • Advanced computer literacy (email word processing data entry internet navigation).

  • Language Skills: Bilingual (Spanish) preferred and may be required at certain service locations.

  • Additional Requirements:

    • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation with state-mandated insurance coverage.

    • Ability to lift a child up to 40 pounds up to 20 times a day if needed.

    • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.

    • Must pass a physical exam background check and fingerprinting.
