This position serves as the IBCS Increment 3 Engineering SME and technical authority providing senior-level leadership in hardware systems across the program lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in designing and managing complex multi-domain hardware (RF IP network analog and digital) within defense or aerospace programs.
Responsibilities:
- Apply Agile principles to complex hardware software and network systems throughout the IBCS Increment 3 Engineering teams tasks and activities.
- Lead requirements definition and traceability employing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to produce adaptable and integrated designs.
- Oversee configuration management hardware/software/firmware development platform integration and Technical Data Package (TDP) creation validation and sustainment.
- Guide component selection qualification testing environmental qualification and production readiness to ensure high-reliability maintainable systems.
- Develop and execute comprehensive obsolescence management strategies to address hardware end-of-life issues and maintain lifecycle supportability.
- Direct system modeling simulation test and evaluation and reliability analyses for operational readiness.
- Ensure compliance with applicable MIL-STD IPC IEEE and other industry hardware standards particularly for RF and IP network systems.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering domains mentoring junior engineers and promoting technical excellence.
- Stay informed on emerging hardware technologies and integrate innovations that improve capabilities and lifecycle performance.
- Deliver technical briefings reports and recommendations to senior Army DoD and OSD leadership.
- Recruit and retain a high-caliber technical workforce to support the Project Management Office and IFMC Systems Engineering enterprise.
- Serve as an Engineer within the IFMC Systems Engineering workforce.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 15 years leading hardware engineering for complex defense or aerospace systems (Senior/SME level).
- STEM degree (Electrical/Computer Engineering Physics etc.).
- Expertise in hardware architecture and system integration.
- Proficient in TDP development and obsolescence management in military systems.
- Experienced in component selection supply chain risk assessment and lifecycle planning.
- Strong knowledge of RF IP networking analog and digital electronics in secure environments.
- Familiar with configuration management systems change control and version control.
- Excellent leadership collaboration and communication abilities.
