As a Java Backend Engineer in our Tech Hub in Portugal you will play a crucial role in the advancement and modernization of the core systems that lie at the very heart of enabling the operations of the ProSiebenSat.1 Media Group. You will have the opportunity to take responsibility for individual topics and drive them while being part of a highly experienced team that will guide you and support your development.

What you can expect in this role
You are part of engineering culture that emphasizes Clean Code and continuous refactoring;
You contribute to creating large software systems that are extendible and you apply Domain-Driven-Design (DDD) Clean Architecture and various Object-Oriented Enterprise Design Patterns to keep code modular and readable;
You interact directly with end-users and work on the full product development lifecycle (from gathering requirements to testing and deployment) to deliver solutions to their business problems with a DevOps mentality;
Our tech stack: Java 17 Spring Framework JUnit Mockito Docker GitLabCI Maven Terraform Gradle DataDog React/Angular AWS for infrastructure with many managed services like ECS SQS Lambda Aurora Mysql DB GitHub Copilot.
Your essential experience and education
- You have 4 years of experience designing and developing large software applications incl. experience working through the full product development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment
- Must-haves: Java; Spring Framework Docker;
- Nice-to-haves: JavaScript/Typescript Angular (or React) AWS cloud platform - managed services like ECS tasks Lambda SQS/SNS DynamoDB; Python Gitlab CICD MySql DB GitHub Copilot
- You have profound experience in building production-quality software in teams and are able to autonomously tackle complex problems;
- Experience and knowledge in Agile methodologies;
- Fluent in English (Portuguese and/ or German language proficiency is a plus).
