Job Description

Medical OfficerPaediatrics & Child Health - MC

Department: Paediatrics and Child Health

Entity: Aga Khan University

Location:Pakistan

Introduction

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

  • identify the patient for the ongoing study and also enrolled patient for the Research study.
  • follow up on the research study patient and update schedule of visits.
  • collect and maintain records of identified cases.
  • ensure participation of the community in Research project to increase case reporting.
  • design and plan social mobilization strategies for community people to co-operate/collaborate with Research
    projects.
  • provide appropriate guidance to children screen positive with disability or malnourished.
  • training of CHWs & Centre staff maintaining a working environment in the health centre
  • monitoring the data collection processes in the field
  • evaluating and Validating the data collected
  • development of data collection forms
  • provide training to field workers research assistants and other Junior Research Medical Officers
  • weekly and Progress Report writing for each month.
  • any other task assigned by the Supervisor

Requirements:

You should have:

  • MBBS degree from a recognized institution
  • One Year house Job/internship having one year of work experience will be preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to establish harmonious working relations at the place of work.
  • Flexibility in taking over additional/new responsibilities when required by project
  • Mature reliable and responsible
  • Able to understand and follow instruction.
  • Ability to speak and understand job-related English and Urdu.
  • Skills in data collection management analysis and interpretation.
