We have a compelling career opportunity for a lawyer to join the Companys Privacy Center of Excellence in a role that will provide a driven candidate with great opportunities to work on a variety of privacy data and AI matters. Data is fundamental to our client services at Marsh McLennan.

As Privacy Counsel you will play an important role in supporting impactful privacy initiatives at a global Fortune 200 stalwart.

We will count on you to:
- Advise cross-functional teams on compliance with privacy marketing and AI laws and regulations including by drafting templates and playbooks
- Review and negotiate privacy terms in client and vendor contracts
- Research privacy and technology legal regulatory enforcement and litigation trends and provide updates on how these developments impact our organization
- Complete Privacy Risk Assessments for new internal and client-facing offerings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT security compliance product marketing and engineering to embed privacy-by-design principles
What you need to have:
- BA/BS degree
- JD degree
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a corporate environment or law firm with exposure to advising on privacy data and/or technology matters
What makes you stand out:
- Experience conducting legal research and producing summaries and guidance notes for different audiences
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Willingness and ability to work independently to accomplish assignments in a timely manner
- Ability to work within a matrix environment managing relationships with different business stakeholders and to problem-solve effectively across multiple geographies
- Strong communication (verbal and written) skills
- A sense of humor. We expect the relentless pursuit of excellence. We appreciate the ability to laugh at yourself and learn when you fall short of expectations
- Confidence to challenge assumptions and the intelligence creativity and empathy to do so in a constructive and collaborative way
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with a focus on privacy and security terms
- Good understanding of information technology systems and their security requirements
- Familiarity with AI and algorithmic decision-making tools digital platforms and online tracking technologies
- Any CIPP certification
