Are you passionate about heavy machinery and want a hands-on trade that keeps industries moving Regional Group is offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Apprentice Mobile Plant Mechanic working across our quarry operations commencing in October 2025.

Regional Group is now recruiting for our next intake of Apprentice Mobile Plant Mechanics. If youre passionate about mechanics and eager to build a skilled trade this is your opportunity to begin a rewarding career.

This is more than just an apprenticeship its your chance to earn a nationally recognised qualification while learning in one of the toughest and most rewarding mechanical environments.

About the Role

Working in both the workshop and quarry sites youll learn how to service maintain and repair a wide range of heavy mobile plant and quarrying machinery including:

  • Crushers and screeners
  • Loaders and excavators
  • Haul trucks and skid steers
  • Conveyors and fixed plant equipment

This structured 4-year apprenticeship combines hands-on experience with study towards a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology

What Youll Learn

  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults in quarry machines
  • Hydraulic pneumatic and electrical systems maintenance
  • Preventative servicing and inspections to minimise downtime
  • Welding fabrication and field breakdown repairs
  • Safe work practices in a quarry environment
  • Keeping accurate job documentation and servicing records

What Were Looking For

  • Completed Year 10 or higher
  • Drivers licence
  • Interest in heavy machinery quarrying or construction industries
  • Willingness to work in tough environments (dust noise heavy lifting)
  • Reliability resilience and pride in doing the job right
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Whilst the role is Dubbo-based you will be required to travel to sites across Central West NSW and take part in rostered weekend work.
