Summary:
Northern Trust is seeking a Basket Operations Specialist to join our expanding North American ETF Services this role you will be responsible for the end-to-end servicing of ETF baskets including their accurate and timely creation dissemination and lifecycle management.
You will play a critical role in supporting ETF issuers and Authorized Participants (APs) by ensuring operational excellence across both standard and custom basket processing. This includes implementing ETF-specific controls and continuously improving systems and workflows to meet evolving market demands.
As a subject matter expert in ETF basket mechanics you will provide strategic guidance on servicing solutions that enhance liquidity tax efficiency and portfolio flexibility for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily basket production and dissemination for ETF issuer clients
Resolve client and AP inquiries related to basket activity
implementing ETF-specific controls and continuously improving systems and workflows to meet evolving market demands
Serve as a subject matter expert in North American basket processing contributing to strategic innovation and expansion
Collaborate with IT and operations to evaluate and implement system and procedural enhancements
Establish and enforce ETF-specific controls and procedures
Develop and maintain service level documentation and performance reporting
Provide consultative support to ETF clients and prospects exploring market entry or expansion
Qualifications:
College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience
Extensive experience in ETF operations with emphasis on basket production accounting security valuation and corporate actions
Deep understanding of ETF creation/redemption processes and basket lifecycle
Strong process orientation and ability to leverage technology for operational scalability
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Highly adaptable and comfortable in dynamic environments
Advanced technical and systems knowledge
Experience with large-scale change management initiatives
Ability to collaborate across teams and influence senior stakeholders
Proven track record of driving efficiency through service quality metrics
