Job Title: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Operational Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the banks technology roadmap in alignment with corporate objectives and digital banking strategy.
- Advise executive management on emerging technologies and their applicability to the banks strategic goals.
- Lead the development of scalable and secure technology platforms supporting product innovation and customer experience.
IT Governance & Infrastructure
- Establish robust IT governance frameworks including policies for procurement infrastructure data management and cybersecurity.
- Oversee the design implementation and maintenance of the banks core banking systems digital platforms and IT infrastructure.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of all banking platforms and services.
Digital Transformation & Innovation
- Drive the continuous digitization of customer journeys and banking processes to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Champion the adoption of agile DevOps and cloud-based solutions for rapid deployment of features and services.
- Lead innovative initiatives including AI machine learning blockchain and API banking (BaaS).
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Ensure the highest standards of information security disaster recovery and regulatory compliance (NDPR CBN guidelines etc.).
- Collaborate with the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer to manage technology risk and ensure cybersecurity resilience.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with technology vendors consultants and service providers to deliver value-added solutions within budget and timelines.
- Collaborate with other department heads (Products Operations Data & Analytics Customer Experience) to meet business goals through technology enablement.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build and lead a high-performing cross-functional IT team including Software Engineering Infrastructure Cybersecurity and Technical Support.
- Mentor and upskill technology staff to align with future-proof banking capabilities and standards.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or a related field. A masters degree or MBA is an added advantage.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g. TOGAF PMP AWS CISSP CISA ITIL) are desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in technology leadership with at least 5 years in a senior executive role within financial services or digital banking.
- Proven experience in leading large-scale digital transformation and IT infrastructure projects.
- Strategic thinking with strong business acumen and a deep understanding of financial technology.
- Excellent leadership communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong knowledge of core banking systems API integrations cloud computing and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Agile mindset and innovative problem-solving capabilities.
