About the Enrollment Division

The Enrollment Division at the University of Denver which consists of Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid seeks to attract and enroll students who will become leaders scholars artists entrepreneurs and public servants uniquely qualified to live in and shape a global society.

Position Summary

A fully remote seasonal part time position available for those interested in evaluating applications for undergraduate admission as a member of the Seasonal Reader Team. Team members will review applications calculate GPAs and render admission recommendations that align with the Universitys enrollment goals and students potential for position will work 5-10 hours per week on average. Days and times vary; position requires up to 30 hours during peak weeks.

This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

  • Evaluate applications for undergraduate admission as a member of the Seasonal Reader team; recommend admission decisions using provided resources
  • Evaluate high school transcripts profile educational coursework and standardized test scores
  • Review recommendation letters
  • Review essays to evaluate lived experiences and other provided information
  • Evaluate extracurricular activities leadership skills and work experiences
  • Communicate optimally with admission staff regarding applicants as required

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to apply critical thinking
  • Use of professional judgement to determine applicants skills and fit within the University
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with technology
  • Ability to maintain consistent consideration for each student
  • Ability to work independently and manage case load within assigned parameters

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • Due to a conflict of interest the following groups cannot be considered:
    • Anyone working in a position that guides students through the college transition process including but not limited to independent counselors; high school counselors; CBOs; scholarship providers; those who are consistently asked to write letters of recommendation for college applicants

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience reading college applications

Work Schedule

This position will work 5-10 hours per week on average. Days and times vary; position requires up to 30 hours during peak weeks.

Hourly Rate

The hourly rate for the position is $19.29.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
