LicensedWatch Engineer
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER/VETERANS/DISABLED
This position requires the following:3rdAssistant Engineer Merchant Mariner Credential Endorsement and TWIC card.
SUMMARY: Licensed USCG watch engineer tasked with maintenance of shipboard systems and dredge plant under the direction of the Chief Engineer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The position requires an MMC of 3rd Assistant Engineer unlimited horsepower and tonnage. The engineer will stand a watch where he or she is responsible for the safe operation of engine room equipment. Responsibilities include helping with the operation and maintenance of 2 Wartsila ship engines various auxiliary generators hydraulic systems and pumps. The watch engineer will work within a team of a very experienced and professional chief engineer a 1st engineer a QMED and a shipboard electrician. Watch engineer duties include oil changes general engine and hydraulic system maintenance and assisting the watch engineer with engine electrical and hydraulic repairs. Tours are 28 days on board with 2 paid travel days and 26 days off.

  • Physical Presence: Regular and predictable physical presence on the ship is an essential qualification for this position due to the importance of the team-related aspects of the essential duties the aggressive timeframes under which the employee will operate and the need for face-to-face interaction with manager and crew.
  • Ability to travel for 28-day tours with 2 paid travel days.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The position supervises one qualified member of the engine department.
