Position Purpose/Summary

Now Hiring: Temporary Warehouse Worker I
Full-Time Non-Exempt Bargaining Position Expected Duration: Up to 6 Months Starting at $28.02 per hour $1.25 per hour pay in lieu of benefits

Benton PUD is looking for a Temporary Warehouse Worker I to join our team and keep things moving If youre safety-focused dependable and ready to roll up your sleeves this is your chance to gain valuable experience and serve your community.

  • Receive store and issue materials for district crews.
  • Pull and deliver orders quickly and accurately.
  • Keep warehouse and equipment clean safe and ready.

The primary purpose of this position is to receive issue store and inventory warehouse materials and provide manpower to other departments as needed working under the direction of the Warehouse Foreman.

Accountabilities

  1. Support the Districts mission to serve our customers and foster a positive workplace by personally choosing behavior aligned with our values and ethical code.
  2. Ensure orders are pulled filled and delivered in an accurate and timely manner to District employees by daily review and fulfillment of orders.
  3. Ensure inventory levels are accurate by reconciling jobs with line Foremen and by participating in the yearly physical inventory process.
  4. Ensure the warehouse stock orders are filled by daily receiving inspecting and placing stock into the warehouse.
  5. Ensure the safety of the Warehouse and crew by performing weekly maintenance and clean up of the facilities and detailed service and safety checks on Warehouse equipment.
  6. Keep informed of District activities by participating in joint department meeting and Operations meetings when scheduled.
  7. Complete other duties as assigned to meet team department and organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications Experience and Certifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Primary residence within 20 miles of Headquarters
  • Must possess and maintain a WA State drivers license; CDL Class A endorsement or obtain within 12 months of hire
Preferred:
  • No experience required prefer 1 to 2 years prior warehouse shipping or receiving experience.
  • Current CPR/First Aid card Flagging card (or be able to obtain in 90 days)
  • Possess and maintain a WA State forklift certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Pass District keyboard test at 25 wpm net
  • General PC literacy with a familiarity of Windows and Microsoft Office programs
  • Good interpersonal skills

ADA Requirement

  • Attendance: Consistent need to attend work at the job site or work location. Frequent or constant need for punctuality.
  • Physical Effort: The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required such as walking standing stooping climbing pushing pulling lifting material or equipment some of which may be heavy or awkward up to 75 pounds (assistance is available for lifting in excess of 75 pounds).
  • Environment: Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort such as dust fumes odors or extreme temperatures.
  • Hazards: There is occasional exposure to hazards or risk of injury which are unpredictable or uncertain and which result in risk or personal injury.
  • Sensory Attention: Typically requires regular use of one or more senses of medium intensity and long duration including color vision.
  • Job Pressure/Deadline Orientation: Under regular pressure to meet deadlines including occasional high-pressure situations; must occasionally deal with unpleasant issues related to people or situations.
