TITLE: Temporary Cook with potential for Permanent REPORTS TO: Kitchen Manager CLASSIFIED: Temporary Full-time Non-Exempt Salary will range from $18-$22/hour depending on experience. MISSION: To inspire and enable all young people especially those who need us most to realize their full potential as productive responsible and caring citizens.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for overseeing the kitchen and caf including food orders food preparation cooking serving and ensuring cleanliness post meal and ongoing. Responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets licensing and health requirements. JOB DUTIES: - Responsible for preparation of morning breakfast and lunch for ECE and assist with snack for Traditional & Teen Center
- Responsible for unloading pallets and food orders.
- Responsible for keeping all dishes cleaned and sanitized
- Must complete Food Safe training and ensure kitchen is up to standard.
- Responsible for keeping the kitchen and caf clean and sanitized.
- Assist with program development for Caf
- Will assist as needed with all special events at the Club.
- Attending 100% of monthly all staff meetings weekly one on one meeting with supervisor and weekly team meetings
- Has full-time availability of Monday-Friday 7:00 AM 3:00 PM.
- This position will be full-time to cover maternity leave for a current employee. As soon as that employee returns to work the temporary position will be over. Approximately the end of 2025. With that we will be looking for a full-time position at our Flandreau location. Should you be interested in staying with the Club after the temporary position is concluded we can discuss the possibility of training for the position in Flandreau. This is not a binding agreement and can be withdrawn at any time.
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience working with youth of ages Preschool through 12th Grade preferred
- Experience working in commercial kitchen.
- Ability to work with standard food equipment such as gas oven and gas stove.
- Ability to be a team player and be open to changes in daily routine
- Must be able to understand implement and demonstrate principles of behavior management and other youth treatment modalities per the Club trainings and values of fun supportive relationships recognition opportunities and expectations and safety.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Must be of the mental and physical capacity to observe interact and communicate with youth staff volunteers parents etc. at the Club to ensure safety of the space and others provide guidance and reflection per the Club priority outcomes and goals.
- Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time throughout a shift.
- Must have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds in order to unload and stock food orders.
