The Senior Financial Analyst role will be responsible for the financial accounting and reporting of alternative investment assets. The role requires deep understanding of alternative investments and the applicable financial standards from International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). Work responsibility includes oversight and financial control of deals from acquisition contribution distribution transfer and sale/retirement. The role will also perform reconciliation function between accounting information systems and general ledgers. The Senior Financial Analyst will also work with front office investment administration and accounting and control advisory teams to ensure accurate financial information are maintained on alternative investment assets.
Position Responsibilities:
Alternative Investments Accounting
Ensure timely and accurate processing and recording of financial transactions i.e. recording of new alternative investments and ongoing capital contributions distributions and reinvestments and etc. The role also involves monthly and quarterly reconciliation of real estate related accounts based on IFRS NAIC and Tax accounting for alternative investments.
Alternative Investments Reporting
Perform monthly reconciliation of alternative investments related balance sheet and income statement accounts based on IFRS and NAIC reporting. The role involves concrete explanation of occurrence of variances for better understanding and analysis of users. This also includes preparation of timely and relevant financial schedules and financial statements.
Others
Tasks that are requested by the Business Unit necessary for the business concern. Submission of monthly meeting agenda containing issues and concerns is also considered. Propose and implement process improvements and efficiencies.
Required Qualifications:
University Business Degree focused in Accounting
CPA designation required
Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in financial reporting and analysis roles or equivalent
Including 1 year in a Senior Financial Analyst role
Knowledge of IFRS and NAIC accounting Tax accounting for Private Equities
Knowledge of IFS Applications (Lawson Essbase DART)
Advanced financial modeling techniques (PowerBI Macro) is preferred
Strong computer skills including intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Strong oral/written communication skills required to interact with Business Units
Strong organizational time management and priority setting skills in order to meet tight deadlines
Solid interpersonal skills to interact with establish relationships with the Business Units
Ability to work independently and collaborate with other team members
