The Role

Asteron is on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Compliance Manager to champion our enterprise-wide risk and compliance initiatives. This is a strategic role that partners closely with business units to embed a culture of integrity accountability and sound decision-making. Youll provide tailored advice lead training programs and ensure our operations align with regulatory expectations and internal standards.

Working alongside the Head of Risk and the Head of Regulatory & Compliance youll be instrumental in shaping Asterons risk posture and driving continuous improvement across our frameworks and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain Asterons Enterprise Risk Management Framework policies and standards.

  • Identify assess monitor and report on strategic operational financial and emerging risks.

  • Collaborate with business units to embed risk and compliance into everyday decision-making.

  • Develop and enhance risk policies procedures and tools to support effective governance.

  • Deliver insightful risk reporting to the Leadership Team and Risk Committees.

  • Oversee incident management including root cause analysis and remediation planning.

  • Provide expert advice and oversight on regulatory compliance breaches and obligations.

  • Support business units in meeting legal and regulatory requirements through control development and implementation.

  • Execute control testing plans and ensure timely remediation of deficiencies.

  • Conduct risk assessments for business changes and initiatives.

  • Promote a strong risk culture through training awareness campaigns and stakeholder engagement.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends regulatory developments and emerging risks.

What you bring:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Law Business or a related discipline.

  • In-depth knowledge of compliance obligations in the life insurance sector including COFI IPSA and the Contracts of Insurance Act.

  • Minimum 7 years experience in risk and compliance ideally within financial services or insurance.

  • Strong grasp of enterprise risk and compliance frameworks.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and perform under pressure.

  • Proficiency in risk management systems and reporting tools.
