Job Title: Lead Painter Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt
Reports to: Director of Facilities Pay Grade: 8
Dept. /School: Facilities Contract Days: 247
Supervises: None
Primary Purpose:
Assists to maintain all district properties in a condition of safety and attractiveness so that the exterior and interior of buildings will be in a satisfactory condition
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas drivers license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of painting repairs and painting techniques
- Knowledge of painting equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and color schedules
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
- Ability to use hand and power tools
Experience:
- 3-5 years experience in painting field
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Receive and complete work orders
- Coordinate supervise and participate in the maintenance of all paint and furniture finishing and glazing work in the district facilities.
- Confer with school principals and district administrators in regard to maintaining buildings
- Interpret plans and read color schedules
- Train subordinates to perform skills in duties as to accomplish job goal.
- Estimate and procure supplies and equipment as needed to fulfill job duties.
- Establish painting schedules for district facilities.
- On call 24/7 for emergencies and vandalism.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities.
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Continual walking standing climbing stooping bending kneeling reaching and heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and around moving objects or vehicles. Exposure to extreme temperatures chemicals (paints and solvents) and loud noises. Frequent district wide travel.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Assists Foreman with all painting department employees
Equipment Used:
- Paint sprayers scaffolding ladders and various hand Tools
