THIS POSITION IS TO COVER FOR A TEMPORARY LEAVE--APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTHJob Summary:The School Adjustment Counselor provides counseling and support services to students within a school environment. They work collaboratively with students families teachers and administrators to address social emotional and behavioral issues that may affect students academic success and personal 1. Counseling Services:Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students with personal social or behavioral students emotional and psychological needs and develop appropriate intervention crisis intervention and support to students experiencing emergencies or emotional conflict resolution and mediation sessions between students as needed.2. Support and Advocacy:Advocate for students needs within the school and help them access appropriate resources and support with teachers administrators and other school staff to develop and implement strategies for supporting students with diverse students in developing essential life skills such as problem-solving decision-making and conflict resolution.3. Prevention and Education:Develop and deliver educational programs and workshops on bullying prevention stress management and substance abuse with teachers to integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) into the curriculum and classroom assessments and screenings to identify students at risk of mental health issues and coordinate early intervention efforts.4. Family and Community Collaboration:Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding students progress and with community agencies mental health professionals and other external resources to support students needs beyond the school and facilitate parent education workshops and support groups.5. Documentation and Evaluation:Keep accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions assessments and and evaluate the effectiveness of counseling interventions and adjust strategies as reports and documentation as required by school policies and IEP goals and progress reports based on the timeline.
