Job Description
Were seeking a detail-oriented CAD Support Engineer to join our dynamic Amazon Manufacturing Services (AMS) this role youll support critical design prototyping and manufacturing activities across Amazons diverse business units from Amazons fulfillment centers to AWS Cloud services. You will be part of a customer obsessed team that drives innovation through simple practical engineering solutions.
Key job responsibilities
* Partner with internal customers to understand their technical requirements and pain points
* Support the development of design solutions for internal customers using advanced CAD tools
* Lead stakeholder interviews capture site requirements and conduct product tear-downs for comprehensive data gathering
* Perform 3D scanning and reverse engineering activities
* Create detailed technical documentation and work instructions for successful product deployment
* Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams of varying technical expertise
* Apply Design for X principles based on customer and stakeholder requirements
Additional Requirements:
Travel Requirement: 35% domestic travel expected

Amazon Manufacturing Services (AMS) is an internal manufacturing service providing comprehensive support for Amazons engineering and product development needs. Our capabilities include additive manufacturing subtractive manufacturing and design engineering services. We partner with teams across Amazon to deliver innovative solutions that drive business growth.
- 2 years hands-on experience with industrial mechanical CAD software (e.g. SOLIDWORKS Creo Autodesk Inventor)
- Demonstrated proficiency with 3D scanning and reverse engineering tools
- Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes including: Additive manufacturing (3D printing) Machining and Sheet Metal Fabrication.
- 1 year experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- Proven track record of completing design and support assignments with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design or related design or engineering field
- Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation and work instructions
- Background in applying continuous improvement methodologies
- Practical experience in applying Design for X principles. For example design for manufacturing assembly maintenance installation cost.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $67200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $150300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
