Job Summary:
Applications are invited for a part time lecturing role in the Faculty of Design. The Planning and Building Control is 10 ECTS credit module from the following Faculty of Design programmes:
We are seeking a lecturer with an in-depth knowledge of Planning and Building Control regulations and legislation. The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience have enthusiasm and passion not only about their area of expertise but also about the opportunity to share their knowledge.
PURPOSE:
The primary focus of this post will be to play an active role in the academic direction of your module including teaching assessment and administration.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates will be expected to have a Level 9 Qualification or equivalent in Architecture or a cognate discipline; proven teaching excellence and ability to support curriculum development; demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills; excellent interpersonal skills; and the ability to build relations and to work collaboratively. Membership of a Professional body and any record of research scholarship and publications are an advantage.

Successful applicants should have the following attributes:
Planning and Building Control Module (Semester 1 10 ECTS)
Descriptor: This module aims to enable the learner to consider basic design requirements embedded in the building regulations; to introduce health & safety requirements focusing in particular on risk assessments. It aims to ensure the learner has an understanding of role and responsibilities within a project and introduces the ideas of professionalism liability negligence and the client/designer relationship. The learner is given an understanding of the legal frameworks regulating the built addition the module aims to introduce the principles of business management and provide a basic knowledge of how a small practice operates.
