Our client is an automotive parts manufacturer.
Responsibilities
- Designing and developing the part concept for prototype build and perform to customer and or production.
- Designing and developing jig-fixture for the prototype assembly process.
- Designing and developing soft tooling for the prototype part.
- Designing and developing prototype samples for performance testing (DOE part) and data records for referring product design.
- Designing and developing benchmarking products.
- Estimating prototype part cost and providing a quotation to the customer.
- Communicating with customers regarding prototype concept part cost and timing plan.
- Sourcing and communicating with suppliers regarding sample parts tooling costs and timing plans.
- Leading performance lab testing for In-House and outsourced tests.
- Evaporating cooling performance test with Calorie-Meter test machine.
- Writing test reports to the requester.
- Sourcing testing condition applying to DOE samples test.
- Providing change concepts for VE and production improvement.
- Studying cost improvement projects (CIP) and then providing to change management team (CMR).
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience as a new model engineer and project engineer.
- Highly experienced with compressor/air system functional design.
- Knowledge of simulation and thermodynamics.
- Able to use a drawing program.
- Understanding of Metal component design plastic part development check jigs fixtures and metal press tooling design.
- Good understanding of change control and change management (PLM).
- Plastic injection module metal press tooling design and fixture design experience.
- Understanding of OEMs Systems and Standards.
- Good communication in English.
