Make your mark in Underwriting

AIG Underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines Property Auto Casualty Specialty Lines Cyber and Multinational Clients. We are reimagining how we help customers to manage risk transforming our operating model and reshaping our role responsibilities and career pathways. How you will create an impact

As a Leader you are respected for your deep technical expertise and/or ability to oversee programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders making sound decisions using data analysis experience and judgment along with a risk mindset. Ultimately you take ownership for key outcomes. Responsible for managing all aspects of Auto & Personal Property business in Hong Kong & Macau with accountability for:

• Overall strategy development & execution

• Achievement of top & bottom-line targets

• Product development underwriting & governance

• Cross functional management with a focus on claims distribution & operations

• Regional stakeholder management

• Overseeing all aspects of the product P&L including product development rating underwriting segmentation strategy distribution management

• Apply framework of underwriting authorities and manage the delegation of authority to product underwriters and ensure clear technical progression

• Work with Digital & Marketing function to develop new ways of doing business with a focus on enabling channels with digital assets to promote operational efficiencies

• Key relationship management working with the Distribution function to ensure clear governance of key accounts and relationship

• Work with the claims organization to define claims strategies and objectives that help the product achieve their top & bottom line targets

• Work with legal and compliance to ensure products are regularly reviewed and in line with local regulatory framework

• Responsible for the team culture and progression of the team with a focus on talent management

What youll need to succeed

• Minimum of 8 years of product experience within the General Insurance industry ideally with 5 years of either Auto or Property experience in a technical or portfolio based role.

• An individual who is an self-starter and has the ability to discover problems and implement solutions

• Knowledge of market segmentation portfolio management acquisition and multiple distribution systems

• Strong analytical and project management skills

• Strong execution and results orientation

• Ability to develop a high performance organization. Proven ability to manage diverse teams of people

• Strong communication (oral and written) and influencing skills and proven ability to collaborate and work across multiple areas of the organization
