Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A valid New York State teaching certificate in English 7-12
- Demonstrate successful classroom experience at the high school level.
- Demonstrated ability to work with supervisors
- Ability to motivate and instruct students in developing problem solving skills

- Demonstrated evidence of incorporating differentiated instruction in planning a lesson/unit of instruction
- Demonstrated evidence of effective communication skills both written and oral
- Demonstrated evidence of effective interpersonal skills with students faculty support staff and parents
- Demonstrated evidence of knowledge of NYS Regents/Standards/Performance Indicators and ability to plan lessons for Regents level courses.
- Demonstrated evidence of exceptional effective classroom management skills
- Demonstrated evidence of a knowledge of technology and its application in the classroom
- Demonstrated evidence of a proven ability to effectively organize
- Demonstrated evidence of a proficiency in modifying curriculum to meet the needs of special education students and advanced learners
- Demonstrated evidence of an ability to reflect and contemplate on ones teaching allowing for growth and excellence
PREFERRED CHARACTERISTICS:
- Demonstrated evidence of a willingness to contribute within and outside the department if called upon (i.e. advisor chaperone club etc.)

SALARY: $47200-$53700
Per WTA Contract

Internal: District employees (Probationary and tenured teachers requesting a transfer within their current tenure area Teaching Assistants who are currently fully certified in the appropriate tenure area) may apply by submitting a letter of interest to Human Resources with a copy to the building principal. E-mailed letters of interest are not acceptable. The original signed letters of interest must be submitted by the end of the day on August 27 2025.
External: All others (including part-time teachers teachers applying outside of their current tenure area regular subs and per diem subs) should fill out an online application at and then apply to the appropriate posting. Applications previously submitted for the English Teacher Anticipated posting will also be considered for this position. However it is recommended but not required to apply to this current posting even if a candidate has already applied to English Teacher Anticipated posting.
