Role Overview:
Collaborate with clients housing team and community providers to provide housing resources assist with housing applications and program paperwork and routine reporting. Assist individuals through the intake/move-in process. Complete scheduled unit inspections. Support property management. Attend agency and community meetings and promote programs to teams and in the community. Meet with clients weekly or as needed assisting them in forming a housing stability plan and documenting progress. Assist clients in obtaining/maintaining entitlements and items needed for daily functioning health and safety. Coordinate activities with team members clients and community service providers. Keep accurate and complete financial and housing records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide case management and referral services to include activity counseling health and relationship services for clients in support of the housing stability plan and as directed by the supervisor and/or work team.
- Provide services that are recovery based and incorporate harm reduction.
- Participate with Services Manager in receiving assuring that all applications demonstrate program eligibility prior to being forwarded for selection process.
- Provide crisis response services for clients in their own home or community setting.
- Provide all services with respect for cultural diversity including veterans and in the least intrusive way.
- Contribute as appropriate to treatment planning for clients receiving other services such as mental health chemical dependency etc.
- Participate in interviews with program applicants.
- Conduct program intake with selected applicants.
- Attend case conference with Coordinated Entry for veterans and chronically homeless individuals.
- Provide clients with information and explanations regarding their rights under housing law.
- Assist clients in understanding the terms of their lease.
What Were Looking For:
Education:
- BA degree or higher in human services or comparable experience
- Veteran of the Armed Services
Experience:
- Prior experience with homeless families.
- Knowledge and skills in providing case management.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of professionals and a diverse client population.
Other:
- Washington State Registered Counselor Certificate
- Pass required background checks
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work occasional evenings
Desirable Requirements:
- Bi-lingual proficiency
- Prior experience working with veterans
