Our client is a leading global manufacturer of automotive accessories.
Responsibilities:
- Managing all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team (e.g. internal supplier customer and customer warranty).
- Managing and coordinating customer claims customer problem solving on time cost recovery customer warranty and customer quality audits.
- Identifying root causes and instigating permanent corrective actions for product quality issues.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards.
- Carrying out product and process auditing.
- Ensuring control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained.
- Monitoring and reporting on quality-related key performance indicators including scrap monitoring rework levels and parts per million (PPM) figures.
- Stopping production in the event of manufacturing unacceptable goods/processes.
- Ensuring compliance with and assisting with adherence to the Quality Management system (IATF 16949 / ISO9001).
- Writing product inspection/testing procedures and/or work instructions.
- Reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure adherence to processes and prevent the occurrence of non-conformity relating to product process or system.
- Participating in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products meeting customer requirements.
- Participating in the development and refinement of Process FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
- Quality controlling work through appropriate reviews.
- Producing written reports and making presentations.
- Independently determining approach and assigned tasks.
- Drawing on prior experience as a Quality Manager in a production processing environment.
- Being familiar with company and industry quality standards and processes.
- Possessing strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and VDA requirements.
- Applying strong knowledge of core tools (APQP FMEA PPAP SPC and MSA).
- Understanding ISO 14001 and Health and Safety Practices.
- Knowledge of measurement systems.
- Demonstrating the ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
- Presenting data effectively.
- Applying problem-solving skills / Six Sigma methodologies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree or higher in an Engineering field.
- At least 7 years of work experience as a Quality Manager in the automotive industry.
- Experience in the European automotive manufacturing industry is an advantage.
- A solid background in IATF 16949 ISO 14001 and VDA 6.3 Process Audit Certification is an advantage.
- Experience in working across multiple time zones with a global workforce.
