THE RENFREW COUNTY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

requires

CASUAL TRANSITION SUPPORT WORKERS (ASD)

for

September 2025

These are casual positions with schedules established by the school principal for up to the maximum number of hours allocated (as outlined below).

These positions are union-exempt and not part of the ESP bargaining unit and support students who will be transitioning schoolsin September.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum two year community college diploma in the social services field (e.g. DSW CYW SSW) or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the RCDSB.
Training and/or experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Assistance to support arrival lunch and departure as needed;
Assistance to support in learning routines and help with transitions within the building asneeded;
Support to monitor organizational skills and provide coaching as required;
Assistance to teach appropriate ways of dealing with anxiety related to transition;
Assistance to monitor challenging behaviours related to transition and provide intervention asrequired.

RATE OF PAY:
$22.50/hour plus 4% vacation pay.

Hiring will follow the requirements outlined in RCDSB Administrative Procedures. A school may require more than one person at their location depending on schedule and need and reserves the right to split the total hours between multiple people.
