Job Summary

Business Relationship Manager

Our Business Relationship Manager is the primary resourcefor the members with commercial lending this position one isresponsible for the origination and management of the Credit Unions portfolioof commercial loans with the overall objective of maintaining and increasingits asset quality. This position is also responsible for managing significantaccount interactions and coordinating business development efforts in new andexisting business relationships.

This is a salaried full-time role with an expectation to work 40 hours/week. Hours of work will generally run between 8:00am-5:00pm. Some flexibility in availability may be needed to accommodate business needs.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Takes applications for commercialloan business. Reviews member financial condition and assesses the membersability to re-pay the loan. Makes underwriting decisions within approvalauthority. Completes or directs completion of all loan documents and closesloans.
  • Participates in development andgrowth of commercial lending and deposit business for the Credit major commercial accounts to foster new relationship opportunities andpotential clients; calls on clients to expand existing business
  • Maintains and monitors existingloan portfolio to ensure a high-quality asset base. Maintains up-to-date memberfiles including current balance sheets profit and loss statements cash flowprojections and all loan documentation.
  • Assists members with anyloan-related questions or concerns.
  • Assists branch staff with consumerlending when necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve memberand internal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of commerciallending and accounts and the ability to identify and refer appropriateproducts and services that would best benefit the member while balancing theneeds of the credit union.
  • The ability to analyze businessfinancial statements and assess the viability of a business for sound decisionmaking.
  • Exemplary member focus and desireto work closely with new and existing commercial members.
  • Willingness to participateactively in the development and growth of commercial lending within the creditunion.
  • Contacts commercial accounts tofoster new relationship opportunities and potential clients.
  • Willingness to travel tocommercial sites to meet with current and potential members buildrelationships assess value and conduct other commercial business.
  • Professionalism displayed throughattitude attire and excellent written/verbal communications with members andstaff.
  • Proven sales experience and theability to regularly meet or exceed set lending goals.
  • Personal initiative and motivationto think critically creatively and strategically.
  • Ability to handle pressure andfast-paced environments with professionalism and tact.

Experience and Education:

  • 3-5 years of commercial lendingbanking/credit union experience is required.
  • A 4-year degree in BusinessAdministration Finance Management or other related field is required. -OR-Equivalent experience.
  • Experience with DNA/Fiserv is aplus.
  • SBA experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

This position primarily requiressitting some standing and walking. The ability to occasionally lift/lowerobjects of between 10 and 25 pounds.
