The Manager Grants Accounting supervises a team of professional level employees and manages the financial record keeping and reporting of Cone Healths grants. This job reviews accounting records financial statements and other financial reports for accuracy completeness and conformance to procedural standards and works closely with other team members in the grant management process to ensure that the grants are recorded and reported appropriately and compliant with grant requirements. The Manager Grants Accounting also sets goals and objectives for accountants for achievement of operational results.
Responsibilities
Coordinates the day-to-day accounting and reporting activities for direct reports within the team to ensure smooth functioning of the team. Manages grant financial management policies and procedures to ensure that grants are properly accounted for tracked and closed in accordance with grant requirements. Supervises the preparation of financial schedules and reports to regularly communicate and highlight the progress and status of the grants to all needed recipients including Board presentations. Reviews grant documents accounting reports journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with all relevant regulations laws and reporting requirements. Verifies the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records including detailing financial business transactions (e.g. invoice approvals disbursements expense vouchers and wire payments). Compiles and provides documentation and analysis for audits conducted by grantors or external auditors. Provides guidance mentorship and training to accounting staff to facilitate professional development and achieve business objectives. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelors Degree
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 6 years accounting experience including prior Grant Accounting experience
