Your Team Responsibilities
MSCI ESG Research LLC a division of MSCI Inc. is seeking applicants for a 6-month internship position in Singapore to support the increasing demands for sustainability and climate research in the APAC market. This role offers an opportunity to participate in projects that analyze the latest trends in sustainable investment providing sustainability researchanalysisto meet the needs of institutional investors and corporations particularly in the rapidly growing APAC market.
Throughout the internship the intern will depending on their subject matter interests background and performance assist with sustainability & Climate research projects or be assigned research projects. Some examples include:
- Sector or industry-level sustainability & climate trendsanalysis
- market specific sustainability & climate trendsanalysis
- Model review and enhancement
The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in sustainability investment topics strong data science capability and must be proficient in both English and Mandarin.
Your Key Responsibilities
- rovide research support to senior analysts. Some examples are:
- Data collection and analysis by working with many different types of data sources (i.e.company disclosuregovernment database academic journals and industry publications) types of information (i.e. quantitativedata regulatory information) topics or subject matters (i.e.climate transition corporate governance andprivacy and data security) and types of analysis (i.e. rules-basedanalysisstatistical analysis case studies written summaries).
- Assist ESG ratings model reviewand enhancement
- Prepared tailored materials foraudiencein specific segments or markets
- Visualize and present research findings to the relevant internal/external stakeholders
- (Depending on the applicants subject matter interests background and performance) will support sustainability & climate research projects and/or will be assigned one or two standalone research projects.
Your skills and experience that will help you excel
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
- Strong data science capability
- Advanced degree ineconomics or sustainability-related field (masters or PhD) is preferred but not required;
- Strong background inclimate transition climate risks and modelingare preferred but not required;
- Previous internship experience in the sustainability field is preferred but not required. E.g.:
- Experience in sustainability/ESG Research or corporate social responsibility or
- Relevant financial services experience that includes exposure to ESG investment or
- Relevant public policy or academic or NGO experience
Skills
- Strong awareness of sustainability and climate trends/issues;
- Ability to multi-task;
- Can efficiently communicate/present research findings to internal/external stakeholders;
- Can work underthepressureof deadlinesand deliver work on time.
- Efficient team player who communicates effectively and who can also work independently without constant supervision.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English and MandarinChinese
- Must be able to commit to a minimum of3days per week.
