Job Title: Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer with Trimbles Civil Field Solutions team youll be a key player in developing on-machine solutions for heavy construction equipment(examples: bulldozers excavators and pavers).
Youll join a team building applications that enhance operator efficiency and safety through automation and productivity tools. These applications gather sensor data via various communication technologies (CAN Ethernet WiFi cellular and serial) process it in near real-time and communicate with onboard users cloud endpoints and other field systems.

Primary Tech Stack:
Your work will center around the backend Rust application running on embedded Linux devices with web-based user interfaces.
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring:
Embedded Linux experience is required. Linux programming experience will be considered as an alternative. This role involves significant work with embedded Linux.
Systems programming experience is required. While we use Rust prior experience isnt necessary. Experience with C C or Zig will make learning Rust easy and we offer training.
Although this is a backend Software Engineering role experience or a strong understanding of web application programming (e.g. HTML CSS Java and JavaScript) is important as our web UI is built with these technologies.
A deep understanding of software development methodologies test tools frameworks and best practices to develop software utilizing one or more programming languages.
8 years or more of relevant or related Software Engineering experience.
Nice to have not required:
Experience with communication protocols (CAN TCP HTTP etc.) and real-time systems design.
What Youll Do:
Manage complex software development projects that design scalable and robust software solutions to meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
Interact with stakeholders (product managers senior leadership) to communicate project status risks and opportunities.Act as a lead member of the support team addressing production incidents and responding promptly to customer and stakeholder inquiries.
Partner with cross-functional teams to define project requirements objectives and timelines.Collaborate on strategic planning and technical roadmaps.
Write and review high-quality maintainable code setting the standard for best coding practices.Contribute to the development and maintenance of coding standards best practices and software development processes.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends sharing your knowledge within the organization.
Mentor junior Software Engineers providing technical guidance coaching and support to foster their professional growth and innovation.

Our Division:
