Demand Planning Manager

Abbott Vascular Netherlands located in Heerlen is one of Abbotts two Tier 1 distribution centers for vascular products worldwide. From our 10000 m warehouse we manage an average of 1700 shipments per dayequivalent to 765000 units per monthdelivered to hospitals distributors and Abbott affiliates across Europe the Middle East Africa and South America.

With over 150 dedicated employees our site ensures high service levels through efficient order processing and a comprehensive supply chain solution. We also offer a wide range of value-added logistics services including labeling relabeling and product reworking to meet country-specific requirements.

About the Role

We are looking for a strategic and detail-orientedDemand Planning Managerto join our team in this key role you will lead forecasting and planning efforts working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate demand forecasts optimize inventory levels and support business growth across multiple markets and sales channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective demand planning strategies to forecast product needs across various markets and distribution channels.
  • Collaborate with teams in Sales Marketing Finance and Supply Chain to gather insights and align on forecast assumptions.
  • Analyze historical sales data market trends and customer behavior to identify patterns and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Partner with the Product Lifecycle Management team to support the introduction of new products and manage the phase-out of existing ones.
  • Work with the Supply Planning team to maintain optimal inventory levels minimize product shortages and reduce excess stock.
  • Create and present reports and performance metrics to monitor forecasting accuracy and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay informed about industry trends market changes and competitor activity to proactively adjust forecasting strategies.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in demand planning forecasting or integrated business planning ideally within the medical device or healthcare sector.
  • Strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of best practices in supply chain management.
  • Ability to think strategically while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with large datasets and drawing actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience engaging senior leadership.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; experience with demand planning software is a plus.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across departments.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business or a related field.
  • Professional certification in supply chain or forecasting is preferred.
