Job Description

Job ID: 40236 Location: Tokyo Tokyo Japan

The purpose of this job is to ensure product stewardship maintain compliance with legal requirements for Clariant products in Japan handle substance registration and reporting serve as the key contact for product safety issues provide training and monitor relevant guidelines and regulations.

*Please note: This position does not provide working visa sponsorship. Candidates must already possess permanent residency status or a valid working visa in Japan to be considered for this role.


Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation

  • Manage product stewardship tasks for local regulatory issues in Japan
  • Ensure chemical management follows regulatory requirements in Japan
  • Monitor national chemical legislation developments in Japan
  • Create and submit annual reports to authorities based on regulation requirements
  • Apply for SQL under METI law and ISH
  • Support audits by authorities

Product Data Management

  • Maintain product data for SDS labeling compositions registration status and documentation in EH&S
  • Ensure SDS/Label compliance for products marketed in Japan
  • Handle substance registration & reporting issues in Japan
  • Coordinate and support new substance registration projects

Customer & Stakeholder Support

  • Respond timely to customers requests concerning product safety issues
  • Provide training on Japanese chemical regulations to relevant stakeholders (Marketing & Sales Production SCM CSD etc.)

Monitoring & General Tasks

  • Monitor amended or modified internal and external guidelines and regulations
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by manager

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in chemistry chemical engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-2 years of product stewardship experience in a regulatory environment within the chemical industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of the SAP EHS system
  • Good knowledge of Japanese chemical control regulations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of chemicals
  • Proficiency in English
  • Good communication skills
