To contribute to a world with Zero Hunger WFP is investing in and growing private sector fundraising and partnerships to reach more people. The Private Partnerships Division (PSP) is responsible for engaging the private sector (corporations individuals foundations) through high-impact partnerships in support of WFPs strategic priorities and through individual giving to build and retain support from the general public worldwide. Partnerships are both fundraising and technical in nature with some bringing purely financial resources to the organization whereas other bringing in-kind support in the form of expertise and assets. PSP strives to mobilize funding technical assistance innovative solutions visibility and awareness to help WFP fulfill its mission and operations. PSP also provides guidance to WFP Regional Bureaus (RBs) Country Offices (COs) and HQ Technical Units on partnership development best practices as well as compliance with rules and regulations for engaging with the private sector. Joining PSP is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals to co-develop and implement our new private partnerships and fundraising strategy.
Under the direct supervision of the Private Sector Communications Lead the Consultant will support the Private Partnerships (PSP) division managing marketing-communication activities related to corporate partners. The Consultant will also work closely with WFPs communications team and others to coordinate internal communications for and about the division.
Manage internal and external communications activities and develop strategic partnership plans that position PPF as a leader in private sector partnerships that drive value for WFP Act as primary focal point within the PSP Communications team for a number of key partnership accounts Review fact check and give recommendations on the clearance of partnership assets including blog posts newsletters cause-related marketing campaigns social media posts annual reports website copy and photos for a variety of private partners representing different industries; Liaise with partners and partnership managers to ensure communications activities and plans promote an accurate image of the organization and its partnerships;
Work directly and indirectly with partners to help build internal and external communications assets managing photo distribution and usage providing approved messaging and gathering necessary clearances;
Coordinate with partners and WFP Country and Regional Offices to organize support for the efficient gathering of video and photo content to accurately communicate WFP operations supported by partners; Provide guidance and support to WFP Regional Bureaus by working closely as focal point for Global Partnerships lab team to effectively engage regional and local private sector partners in communications activities; Coordinate with PSP team members in preparing and editing guidance materials briefing notes background
documents media talking points and Q&A documents about WFPs work with the private sector;
Collaborate with the WFP Communications and Media (COM) division to highlight WFPs work with private sector partners developing engaging social media and digital content; Engage with COM to assess the risk of engaging in certain partnerships and activities and monitor WFPs coverage and sentiment in online spaces and media developing mitigating measures and messages to reduce impact on WFPs brand.
