ABOUT YOU

We are seeking an experienced Certification specialist who can lead a team of certification personal who are responsible for the for clients across the UK. You will have experience in engineering and have a strong understanding of different types of requirements for certification schemes.

Required skills and experience:

  • Engineering other science-based qualification or relevant experience.
  • Understanding and knowledge of different types and requirements of certification schemes.
  • Experience and Knowledge of working in an ISO 17065 accredited environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of British European and International standards which may include but not necessarily be limited to any of the following: EN/IEC 60335 series EN/IEC 60601 series EN/IEC 60598 series EN/IEC 61439 series EN/IEC 61010 series EN/IEC 62368 series.
  • Commercial acumen and demonstrable experience of developing solutions in collaboration with commercial colleagues which meet the needs of clients.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Certification Engineering Manager you will lead a team of certification personnel responsible for the effective management and development of a portfolio of Certification Schemes delivering high-quality right first time product evaluation achieving client satisfaction and achieving its commercial targets. Successful execution of these duties will result in increased financial performance for the business increased customer satisfaction and value add to our customers.

Key activities:

  • Inspires and communicates with teams to give clarity on direction feedback on performance and plan to constantly improve and achieve results.
  • Role models the Intertek values and sets a positive example for all employees through professional behaviour and leadership.
  • Creates and drives high performance culture through disciplined performance management ensuring engineers are meeting or exceeding objectives.
  • P&L management of team ensuring revenue and profit targets are met through effective resource and cost management.
  • Rigorous planning of workload and related activities driving operational performance.
  • Represent the company during Certification internal and external quality assessments.
  • Recommend the issue re-issue or withdrawal of certificates and report recommendations in accordance with Intertek policy procedures and prescribed timeframe.
  • Proactively identifies new and/or amended product standards/directives and ensures Interteks certification schemes are kept up to date and relevant to current market needs.
