Job Description
The Westlake Fellows Program is seeking outstanding newly minted or imminent PhD graduates with a track-record of excellence and creativity to establish their own independent research programs in any area of science and engineering. APPOINTMENT TERMS
Westlake Fellows work as full-time principal investigators and have full access to Westlakes state-of-the-art facilities for a period of three years which can be renewed for another three years after evaluation. Start dates are flexible. This is a great opportunity for researchers to start their careers free from the need to raise their own grant support or the distractions of classroom teaching. Westlake Fellows can also seek additional external funding.
ELIGIBILITY
Candidates are about to be awarded a doctoral degree or within two years of obtaining a doctoral degree and havent been employed as an assistant/associate professor or full professor (or equivalent).Candidates can be nominated by a senior investigator who can provide an in-depth analysis of their accomplishments and future potential. We also welcome direct applications from exceptional candidates.
HOW TO APPLY
- Submit inonePDF file: a letter of intent your CV a research plan (up to 2 pages) for the three-year term and a list of Westlake Faculty members with whom you would like to collaborate (up to 2 pages).
- Arrange to have the nomination letter and/or three additional reference letters submitted by the nominators or referees directly.
We will consider your application only when all application materials are received including the three reference letters via email toby June 30 2023.
