Description

YOUR ROLE

The Psychologist will work alongside other team members in a multidisciplinary integrated model of service delivery. The psychologists within the IL team will work with an established consultation and referral process. The service operates across all schools and aims to effectively use the skills of all staff to provide fair just and equitable services to all students in Catholic schools.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Consult with schools to support the inclusion of students with cognitive learning and/or social/emotional needs
  • Administer cognitive and other relevant assessments to inform implementation of evidence-based educational programs and adjustments for referred students and make relevant diagnoses when applicable (e.g. IDD gifted)
  • Provide evidence-based consultancy services to program support groups (PSG) to ensure that the teachers and school staff are supported in meeting the needs of students with diverse learning needs
  • Liaise with educators other allied health professionals and external support agencies specific to individual student needs to support access to education
  • Maintain ongoing evidence-based learning through participation in MACS and other relevant professional development
  • Accurately document case notes and consultations with schools and related recommendations consistent with MACS/VCEA policies ICT tools and Student Engagement Unit guidelines.
  • Comply with all aspects of the Board of Psychologys Code of Conduct and the Registration Standards for Psychologists

ABOUT YOU

  • A comprehensive understanding and ability to apply current best-practice in assessment and management of students with diverse learning needs within an educational setting
  • Demonstrated ability to administer and interpret psychological assessments and provide consultancy support to teachers and school leaders to inform the provision of appropriate adjustments to achieve the inclusion of students with diverse learning needs
  • Proven ability to work effectively with school personnel to build teacher capability in delivering a broad range of programs and adjustments to support the needs of students
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including consultation psychological report writing and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ICT skills including the ability to manage workload efficiently and to develop produce and deliver presentations and resources

Salary range for this position is $111913 (Grade 1) - $124552 (Grade 3) per annum exclusive of superannuation as specified in the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 and may include additional allowances dependent on qualifications and experience.
